Bulgaria's Davis Cup squad has completed its first training session at the Royal Stage arena in Hillerod, a suburb of Copenhagen, where the tie against Denmark will be played on September 18 and 19. Gong reported that players and coaching staff were satisfied with the court's condition and pace.

A win over Denmark would return Bulgaria to the Davis Cup World Group, the competition's top tier. A defeat would send the squad into a relegation play-off in February to stay in World Group I.
Captain Valentin Dimov has named a squad led by Grigor Dimitrov, who Gong reports was expected to join his teammates in Denmark shortly after the group began practice at a local tennis club over the weekend. Also named are Alexander Donski, Pyotr Nesterov, Iliyan Radulov and Alexander Vasilev. Ivan Ivanov, the 2025 junior Wimbledon and US Open champion, travels as a reserve.
The squad and the venue
Royal Stage holds around 2,800 spectators. The Bulgarian federation confirmed the squad trained there ahead of a Thursday draw ceremony that set the match order.
