Formula 2 chief Bruno Michel says Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov has what it takes to compete in Formula 1, though Michel acknowledged that readiness alone will not determine whether Tsolov gets a seat in 2027.
"Yes, I think he is ready, although I don't know if he will be chosen for Formula 1 next year," Michel told reporters Thursday, according to GMM.
Michel pointed to Tsolov's consistency and his championship battle with Rafael Camara as evidence that both drivers have adapted well to the series. Camara has already secured a Formula 1 seat, while a promotion for Tsolov remains unconfirmed.
Tsolov has been linked to a seat at Racing Bulls, where Liam Lawson's future is also unsettled. Any decision is expected to come from the Red Bull organization.
