Bulgaria's national athletics championships produced sharp performances and personal bests across the board, with Gabriela Petrova of Lokomotiv Plovdiv claiming the women's triple jump title by equaling her season's personal record.
Petrova takes gold in the triple jump
Petrova jumped 14.37 metres to win the national title, matching her own season's best. Silver went to Galina Nikolova of Hebros Harmanli, who set a personal best at 13.42 m, while Anzhelina Petkova of SKLA Ivaylo Mladenov took bronze with 13.01 m. Gong reports that in the men's triple jump, Nikolay Todorov of Ludogorets-Razgrad claimed the title with 15.22 metres.
Sprints, hurdles, and a full card of champions
Hristo Iliev of Mihail Zhelev Sliven won the men's 100 m in 10.36 seconds, ahead of Nikola Karamanolev at 10.42 and Deyan Tsvetanov at 10.57. In the women's 100 m, Radina Velichkova of Botev Plovdiv crossed first in 11.72 seconds, with Raya Dimitrova second at 11.83 and Kristen Radukanova third at 11.89. Wind was recorded at zero for both sprints.
Iva Deliverska of Energi-Plovdiv won the women's 100 m hurdles in 14.10 seconds into a headwind of -1.9 m/s. Aleksandar Evtimov of CSKA took the men's 110 m hurdles in 14.81 seconds in similar conditions. In the 400 m, Todor Todorov of Akademik Sofia won the men's race in 47.01 seconds and Deva-Maria Dragieva of SK Atlet-Mezdra won the women's race in 55.54 seconds.
