Alexander Vezenkov has been named MVP of both the final match and the overall tournament at the Greek Basketball Supercup, according to Gong.bg. The Bulgarian forward was central to Olympiacos's 101-96 victory over PAOK in the final.
The Greek Basketball Supercup is a season-opening knockout tournament between the top clubs in Greece, comparable in format to the Community Shield in English football.
Performance in the final
Against PAOK, Vezenkov recorded a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds across 35 minutes. He also added two assists and a steal. Olympiacos, the Piraeus-based club known as the red-and-whites, won 101-96.
His tournament output before the final was also strong. In the semi-final against AEK, Gong.bg reports he finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, helping Olympiacos advance to the final. That consistent production across both games earned him the tournament's top scorer award as well.
